GNLW452 is an economic standard decanter centrifuge. It is specially designed and made by China top solids control manufacturer – GN Solids Control Company. It is a basic centrifuge model for middle speed. It is widely used for barite recovery. Another popular function is to reduce the weight of high gravity mud, like used in HDD mud system to reduce the weight of the mud.

Parameters of GNLW452 middle speed decanter centrifuge for mud recovery system or barite recovery.

Dimension: The centrifuge is with 450 mm (18 in) bowl diameter and 1105 mm (43 in) in length. So some customer called it big bowl centrifuge.
Speed and G force: The max. bowl speed is 1800 rpm and the typical speed is also 1800 rpm. G force under 1800rpm is 815. Differential speed is 32rpm @ 1800rpm. In some cased, drilling site may need a lower speed, in the condition that, the mud weight is big, or want a bigger capacity, GN Solids Control can offer another set of pulley and belt to get a lower fixed speed, like 1200 rpm. In this case, customers only need to change the pulley and belt to lower down the speed.
Separation point: 5~7 microns. It means, it can remove solids bigger than 5 ~ 7 microns. Bigger than this point, the solids will remain in the mud. For HDD mud recovery system, this separation point is good. And when GNLW452 is used for barite recovery or used to reduce the weight of the mud, it is mainly used for pre-separation. There normally will be another set of high speed centrifuge for fine solids separation.
Recommended feeding pump for GNLW452 centrifuge is 11kw (15hp) screw pump. GN Solids Control recommended German brand NETZSCH pump feeding for the centrifuge.

Centrifugal pump can also be called sand pump. It is widely used for oil and gas drilling rig mud system. It can be used as mixing pump, desander desilter feeding pump, centrifuge feeding pump, trip pump, charging pump etc…

There are different functions of centrifugal pump in oil and gas drilling rig mud system

1) Centrifugal feeding pump
Centrifugal pump can be used as feeding pump for desander, desilter and decanter centrifuge. It is normally mounted on the slope tank or skid of the mud tank.

2) Mixing pump
Centrifugal pump can be used together with mixing hopper as the mud mixing system. There are 2 type of mixing mud system with centrifugal pump.
One kind of design is both the centrifugal pump and mixing hopper with ventury are mounted on a separate skid, they are connected through pipes and values. And then connected to mud tank.
Another kind of design is more compact. It is built-in design onto the system. The centrifugal pump is mounted on the same tank skid, while the mixing hopper can be mounted on the tank top or on the tank skid.

3) Trip tank pump
Trip tank (5~10 cbm) is normally equipped for oil and gas drilling rig mud system. It is before shale shaker tank. And a small motor size centrifugal pump is requested for the trip tank.

4) Degasser pump
For European made vacuum degasser, it is not self suction type. A separate degasser pump is requested to generate vacuum for the degasser.
Unlike European brand vacuum degasser, GN Solids Control made degasser is self suction type. It does not need degasser pump. It can save the power of the total mud system.

Customer can also use centrifugal pump with other functions. GN Solids Control makes centrifugal pump from 15hp to 100hp, with size vary from 4×3 to 8×6 to suits for different applications.

the newly designed drilling waste management system GNDC-40B.

GNLW363 Decanter Centrifuge.
this centrifuge is a 14 inch bowl decanter centrifuge.
for the same model, GN has developed to the 3^rd generation, with
lots of improvements. Each year, GN sells 150 sets of centrifuges, 70% of which
are this model. This centrifuge could provide various applications for oil and
gas drilling projects, like solids control decanter centrifuge, waste
management decanter centrifuge and dewatering centrifuge. For the same model,
GN has fixed speed one and vfd control panel one for option, for fixed speed
one, GN could provide 3 optional belt and pulley for the end user to use it in
different conditions, and for VFD controlled one, more optional speed could be
reached by means of the 3 VFD controlled models for main motor, back motor and
feeding pump.

2.      
Vertical cuttings dryers, this
is the former step separation equipment for decanter centrifuge. Since GN
designed the first vertical cuttings dryer in China, GNCD series vertical cuttings dryer has
been to the 3^rd generation. This newly improved model GNCD930C is
proved to suit for not only OBM and SBM as traditional vertical cuttings
dryers, but also suitable for WBM. For the Vertical Cuttings dryer, GN also
have fixed speeded and VFD controlled available.

Solids control system play a very important role in oil and gas drilling. It cleans the
drilling mud which includes many wasted cuttings, and recollects the mud for
recycling usage. Drilling cutting discharged from the solids control equipment is
always also wet with oil or water content. If disposed directly to the ground,
the wet drilling cuttings will contaminate the environment seriously. With more
and more strict regulations on Waste Discharge, it is now allowed to directly
pour the wet drilling cutting on the ground, and the liquid content is requited
to below OOC 5%, then can be discharge.

solve this problem. Solids discharged from shale shaker and desander, desilter
or the mud cleaner will be directly delivered to the vertical cutting dryer
instead of being disposed through screw conveyor. The vertical cutting dryer
will throw the liquid out in high centrifuge force; solids will be preventing
form throwing out by a stainless steel screen. Thus solids and liquids are
separated. Solids will fall into a collecting box from the bottom opening;
liquid will flow into a mud tank from which it will be pumped into a high speed
decanter centrifuge for further treatment.

for a Shell project in Sichuan, China. Also, one set of GN vertical cutting
dryer is used in Europe. Also, 4 sets are for Baker Hughes project in Russian.
With more and more strict environmental regulations, drilling waste must be
treated if wanted to be disposed. Besides fixed speed vertical cutting dryer,
GN also provides VFD control for option. It control the rotating speed of
vertical cutting dryer, and also the flushing pump which is used to flush the
liquid to ensure the liquid flow smoothly.
