Solids control system play a very important role in oil and gas drilling. It cleans the
drilling mud which includes many wasted cuttings, and recollects the mud for
recycling usage. Drilling cutting discharged from the solids control equipment is
always also wet with oil or water content. If disposed directly to the ground,
the wet drilling cuttings will contaminate the environment seriously. With more
and more strict regulations on Waste Discharge, it is now allowed to directly
pour the wet drilling cutting on the ground, and the liquid content is requited
to below OOC 5%, then can be discharge.
GN vertical
cutting dryer provides the proper solution to
solve this problem. Solids discharged from shale shaker and desander, desilter
or the mud cleaner will be directly delivered to the vertical cutting dryer
instead of being disposed through screw conveyor. The vertical cutting dryer
will throw the liquid out in high centrifuge force; solids will be preventing
form throwing out by a stainless steel screen. Thus solids and liquids are
separated. Solids will fall into a collecting box from the bottom opening;
liquid will flow into a mud tank from which it will be pumped into a high speed
decanter centrifuge for further treatment.
GN vertical cutting dryer now is working
for a Shell project in Sichuan, China. Also, one set of GN vertical cutting
dryer is used in Europe. Also, 4 sets are for Baker Hughes project in Russian.
With more and more strict environmental regulations, drilling waste must be
treated if wanted to be disposed. Besides fixed speed vertical cutting dryer,
GN also provides VFD control for option. It control the rotating speed of
vertical cutting dryer, and also the flushing pump which is used to flush the
liquid to ensure the liquid flow smoothly.
